How we handle your data

Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics (GA4) to collect anonymised data about how visitors use the site. This includes information such as pages visited, time spent on the site, approximate geographic location (country level), device type, and how you arrived at the site (for example, via a search engine or a direct link).

Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish between visits. No personally identifiable information is collected or stored by EEG101. The data is processed by Google LLC and may be transferred to servers outside the UK and European Economic Area. For details of how Google handles this data, please refer to Google’s Privacy Policy.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Contact data

When you contact EEG101 by email, your email address and message are used solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not share contact data with third parties.

Event registration

When you register for an EEG101 meeting, training session, workshop, or Working Group activity through a booking action on the News & Events page or calendar, we collect your name, email address, institution, country, and, where you choose to provide it, Working Group affiliation. This information is used to administer the relevant event, manage capacity and waiting lists, send registration updates and calendar invitations, and maintain an attendance record.

Registration information is held in a private EEG101 registration spreadsheet and can be accessed only by authorised members of the organising team. The public website does not display attendee information. The registration form records your consent to this use of your information. Records are ordinarily deleted within 12 months of the event’s completion, subject to any documented administrative, financial, or legal retention requirement.

The event-booking service uses a private Google Apps Script to transfer form submissions to the registration spreadsheet and send confirmation messages. You can contact eeg101costaction@gmail.com to ask about your registration information or request its correction or deletion, subject to the limits described above.

COST platform (e-COST)

Membership of EEG101 is managed through the e-COST platform, operated by COST. Please refer to COST’s privacy policy for details of how your data is handled in that context.
